Jesus, Expectation, and Power

What do you do when the risen Jesus appears in the room and it’s almost too joyful to believe? In this message from Luke 24:30–53, Tom traces the final scenes of Luke’s Gospel, the disciples overwhelmed by the risen Jesus among them, minds opened to the scriptures, and then the ascension at Bethany as Jesus blesses them and steps into God’s realm. It’s a passage about the transformation of expectation: the disciples thought they knew what God’s kingdom would look like, but the resurrection and ascension rewrite everything. And then comes the promise, wait for the power from on high.
